Martinique and the arts at Van Gogh Museum

In 1887, French artists Paul Gauguin and Charles Laval visited Martinique, where they created a series of paintings inspired by the stunning scenery they found there. For the first time, these works are being displayed together in an exhibition titled “Gauguin & Laval in Martinique” at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, on view until January 13, 2019. These colorful landscapes are sure to inspire art lovers to follow in the footsteps of Gauguin and Laval and find their own slice of French Caribbean paradise! For more info.
